I realized as I have been setting this site up that I need a cool tagline. I need one that encapsulates what this site is about so at a glance, someone can know.
Something else I realized is I have agonized over taglines in the past and some have turned out pretty well and stuck. For Church Tech Matters, from the very beginning, I determined I wanted to ‘Equip the church to effectively use technology to reach people for Christ.’ and that has stuck. There have been many other sites I have created, both for myself and others and have made it a priority to have relevant url’s and taglines. I will share some of these in the near future.
For this site, while on a long flight home, I came up with a list of possible taglines and here is the edited list. I’ve removed a few of the edgy ones that might offend some, maybe I shouldn’t. I actually only removed 2 but the rest is raw and unedited off the top of my head.
I have asked several in my alpha test group to give me their opinions and they did, which I greatly appreciate. In the end, I chose one and it is currently in place. I like it, I think it fits.
I thought about rotating it from time to time, but initially, one of my advisors advised me to pick one and stick with it. I’m doing that for now but I’ll have to see how things progress, maybe it will change.
For now, I have decided on one but I wanted to share the list I worked through to get to it. Most are quotes from movies or songs, some are original and one is from a recent news story.
Let me know what you think!

Yo mama
Wasted days and wasted nights
You can check out but you can never leave.
Put another dime in the jukebox, baby
No shirt, no shoes, no service
I want you to want me
More than just another Top 40 song from the 80’s
Greater things are still to be done
Are we there yet?
Something to say
What if I had given everything?
Before I can find my voice, I need to hear Your voice, above all this senseless noise.
Why?
Trying not to suck any more than I have to.
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands
Irreverant out of necessity
Creating killer taglines for 10+ years
Spotted on a beach, topless and looking healthy

I like “Before I can find my voice I need to hear Your voice, above all the senseless noise” but with a little editing. How do you like this: “Before I can find my voice, I need to hear HIS voice.” I also like the one you have up right now. It fits what you have been talking about with the changes you are going through.

From getting to know you…I still say “Irreverent out of necessity.” is my favorite.
I agree though, you need to find one and keep it.
That’s why I stopped on the one I use on my site.
Still good stuff!
Can’t wait to see where God leads you in this. I just added it to my Google Reader.
